Frequently asked questions

Nehemiah Family Restoration and Parent Education of Southern New Jersey is dedicated to offering comprehensive support to families. We provide essential tools for successful family navigation through supervised visitation, parent education, and academic tutoring. Our commitment is to bridge the gap between legal obligations and positive family experiences.

What services does Nehemiah Family Restoration provide?

We provide professional supervised visitation services, parent education, family support, and detailed documentation for families involved in the court system, child welfare agencies, or private custody matters. Our goal is to promote safe, healthy parent-child relationships while encouraging healing and restoration.

What is supervised visitation?

Supervised visitation allows a parent to spend time with their child in a safe, neutral environment while a trained supervisor observes the visit. The supervisor's role is to ensure everyone's safety, document the visit objectively, and encourage positive interactions between the parent and child.

Who can request supervised visitation?

Our services may be requested by family court, superior court, attorneys, child welfare agencies, and guardians.

How do your services actually help families in their day-to-day lives?

Many families come to us during difficult seasons. Our mission is to provide a respectful, encouraging environment where relationships can begin to heal, trust can be rebuilt, and families can move toward a healthier future. "He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds." — Psalm 147:3. Every step forward—no matter how small—is an opportunity to strengthen families and create brighter futures for children.

Are there any important details or common misunderstandings you want to clear up for new families using your services?

We understand that beginning supervised visitation or family services can feel overwhelming. Our goal is to make the process as respectful, transparent, and supportive as possible. Here are a few important things to know: We are a neutral third party. Nehemiah Family Restoration does not take sides in family disputes. Our role is to provide a safe, child-focused environment and objective documentation of each visit. Our priority is the child's well-being. Every decision we make is based on the safety, emotional well-being, and best interests of the child. We do not make custody decisions. We are not judges, attorneys, or mediators. We do not decide custody or visitation arrangements. We simply provide professional services and factual observations as requested by the court or referring agency. Respect is expected from everyone. Parents, children, family members, and visitors are expected to treat one another with respect.
